American Armenian Rose Float Association

Every year since 1890, Pasadena has been hosting the Tournament of Roses Parade on new year’s day – a series of floats capturing Americana in a unique and creative way. The Pasadena Rose Floats reach out well beyond Southern California as cultural showcases. The worldwide audience is in the millions and the parade is broadcast in more than 100 nations.

This coming new year’s, for the very first time, the Armenians of the United States will be represented through the American Armenian Rose Float Association.

As the website says: “This float belongs to every Armenian in the United States and around the world. One hundred years ago, the Tournament of Roses chose Mr. Pashgian, an American Armenian, as the Grand Marshall, and now, the American Armenian community will finally be represented on a float.”

Check out http://www.aarfa.org/ where you can contribute financially or even volunteer to decorate the float. This is sure to be a unique Armenian-American welcome to 2015.
