Tumo Center for Creative Technologies
The 100 Years, 100 Facts Project is not just about what happened with Armenians in the past, but also what’s going on with Armenians RIGHT NOW. Stay tuned for future entries on the Republic of Armenia today.
Meanwhile, have an inkling about the country with something really cool: the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies. Since 2011, Tumo has been the kind of after-school place you wish you could have attended. Thousands of teenagers go through the center’s learning system on individual computers for hands-on experience when it comes to web and game development, animation, and digital media, while also attending workshops and events by locals and visitors from abroad – all of it free of charge.
Raffi Krikorian, Vice President of Engineering at Twitter (who is on Tumo’s board) once remarked that he had never seen any place like it anywhere in the world.
